Robert back in the RV

This time he's going with Jude to Los Angeles.  He has a meeting with John regarding how well the office figures were.  The Houston office was newer but seemingly just as profitable so Robert was ready for a break.  Virg would fly later in the week and meet them.  Miami was still too busy to get away.  Real estate was booming in Florida and she was closing on three properties, then another three next week.

Sol described the best he could the scientific project he had been working on at the ranch.  'Remember when the passageways were extremely guarded?  Well they are a remote so now, like a video game, war is raging!"

Forte and Sol

For the most recent present, Forte seemed to have no direct contact with Sol.  Now John found out that Sol was with Emma at Venice Beach, her beach house.  He would have breakfast in the morning with the now becoming a Los Angeles, group.

Emma

knew John's father very well.  As an energy executive he fated well with the press.  Always taking them along for the ride, for the big rode he said, on his yacht and port side also.  When Emma was new to her beat, the the energy crisis and middle East oil, also sheiks of the business,  Karl dated her for a brief fling that lasted two weeks then they never saw each other again.

What was Emma after now, he thought.  He knew her from Sol.  Everyone associated with Forte was also associated with or knew of Sol!

John was in for the week,

at the W in Los Angeles downtown on Flower Street.  He loved the service there.
He was attending the funeral of his fathers butler.  And for all practical purposes, the closest idea of a father.  His real father had never been ready for a son. 

He sat at the upstairs bar drinking Perrier and lime looking forward to seeing his fiance at home when Cynthia walked up.

"I have a message for you from Emma" she spoke with extreme seriousness.

John got a call.  He turned to his receptionist, "Get me a flight, fast!"

right after the change of daylight savings.  Having not seen the pastels in the sky, I awoke my brain to a newness, an explosion or implosion of color and sensation of a night different.

Houston was becoming home

for Robert.  With new friends and maintaining everything else he was becoming a social butterfly.  Flying to and from Durango and living in Houston he was taking up more sports.  Whenever he had time he was on the golf course with Virg and potential investors.

He thought to himself, he was laughing and smiling more!

Robert worked out after leaving his office,

He loved the view and seeing the lights of Houston.

After a five mile treadmill run, he replaced his fluids with drinking water.  His body was a well-oiled machine at the top of his game.  It wasn't always that way...

Taking those strokes through the cold water for the challenge of breath work and movement simultaneously, makes a workout.  Also running in place on my purple rug at home, fits the requirements.

We search Mars for an inch of water, frozen or otherwise and forget that the abundance we enjoy is or should lead us to thoughts of sustainability.  To think of no waste, even with abundance is most ethical and peace of mind.

"There are a lot more moves,"

said Forte.  He had showed the participants the basic paddle formats for maneuvering a kayak.  Now he wanted to talk philosophy!  Water or waters...

He asked them to form several small groups then to interview the person on the right and be interviewed by the person on the left.  They were to devise a question on the causes of water shortages and to portray a senator.

They then returned to the large group and shared how it felt to be a senator in a psychodrama and the water solution that surfaced, if one did for shortages.

Robert was at home,

he had rented an apartment, near his office for a 6 month trial so when he heard about the seven planets, discovery, he was overjoyed.  He called Forte and they speculated about many variables having to do with alignments.

He went on to talk more about use of the paddle to be in control of the waters and vehicle.

Robert was settled in his new office.

Forte called him to congratulate and had flowers delivered.  For awhile they wouldn't see him in Durango as he built up the clientele and accounts in Houston, proper and Texas.  He had been given some very good leads to begin.  Virg was one and with her black book she promised more.  Before long he would be having a large staff.  For now the parties with Virg and Jude were great, great for business, great for personal life.  All they talked to wanted to invest!

Forte and his documentary

Climate change is a very broad subject.  Like systems theory, one makes a change, and that change and a subsystem is also effected and impactful.  Forte new that the documentary would be good for his career.  The experts he interviewed with his style, brought out the best in their subject matter.

The politics behind the scenes had recently become outlandish.  He was in the process about interviewing a psychologist on her expertise, the science of denial.

The Chief

The Durango famous neon sign and caboose restaurant!  Grew up  going toward my neighborhood by turning left instead of right.  I wondered why others went there, right turn.

Date Time 11am!

Boot camp at 5am

Robert was up early, looking at stocks to trade.  Then he decided to take a run around the Native land.  They always had a feel of different world, unworldly he thought as he ran.  After five miles he went for a swim, then bicycled the track he had run.  He did the circuit a second time.  By the time he was to meet the others he was ready for the day.  "Want some coffee, Olympian", John asked chiding him?  They were becoming like brothers.

The weather had cooled quite

some and so to spend some individual time was welcomed.  Robert took a nap after swimming and woke to meet everyone downstairs for burgers.  Even the news group joined them.  They all caught up Robert and Miami on Forte's new documentary on climate change.

They went their different ways

The Durango Herald was doing a piece on Valentine's Day travelers, so they followed Jude and Miami around asking about their trip all the way from Houston and plans in Durango.  Everyone laughed and expressed, why not to the proposal of continuing the piece.  The Herald would pick up the tab if they could follow them and their connections to some locals.  For now it was gambling. 

Robert went for a swim with John and they relaxed feeling like the tycoons, they felt themselves to be.

Champagne and appetizers

of cheeses and baguette from a variety of countries, with hummus pita and olive oil and exotic olives.  Everyone had the lunch special of trout, caught fresh with wild rice and a broccoli medley and a dipping sauce of butter and another ingredient.

and the Southern Ute reservation.  John and his fiance would come out also wanting a little of the RV experience, so they would stay at the park and all would drive together to Durango, for the morrow.  The engaged couple would take the casino van from the Durango depot to the resort.  All were looking forward to a great lunch at the restaurant.

A Surprise

Jude and Malibu surprised Robert with a gift.  They planned to take him to the Sky Ute Casino.  Now they reserved two rooms to stay at the beautiful lodge.  Robert could swim and they could relax at the tables without time constraints.

but to swim in such luxury with Native American motifs all around was strikingly attractive.  He agreed and thanked them.
He wasn't planning to go to the office until Monday, anyway.  They packed up to make the half an hour trip.

Both of the sites were probably Anazazi, Robert theorized or were inspired by.

Later after hiking and, thoroughly tired they spent a quiet night looking at the stars from Aztec talking how they were doing the same as their prehistoric neighbors.  The group had an awning to sit outdoors and an RV for inside.  The past was full of structures also.

Durango was next one day early.

Going to Albuquerque

The drive is gorgeous, night time brings the spells of ghosts wandering, possessed.  Day is desert, pure all over again.

Then onto another siren's spell, the road from Albuquerque to Aztec.

Building a Presence

The were expected in Durango on Monday.  John would need to sign the three year contract Miami had negotiated.  He was excited to see Robert and meet Jude.  Miami was used to doing business with the partners.  "You have a ten year option as well", Miami talking to him on the phone.  " The area is up and coming with a NASA feel.  And there is plenty of room to grow."  She added "Or should I say space".  She giggled til her toes turned blue and so did everyone else.

The Four

were having a party their last night together in the trip so far, at TrC, hot springs.  The plans were to go to Chaco and the Aztec National Park for Robert, Jude and Miami.  They all felt great and decided to spend the weekend hiking and exploring the ruins.  Robert would act as their guide, living close by he had a lot of experience and had done a great deal of research.  They had been drinking mainly smoothies and lots of water while soaking so their last night the RR lager with lasagna was the menu, with garlic bread and salad by candlelight and dance floor.

La Pasada

Virg planned to stay at the historic hotel and fly out Monday for Houston and her online business.  She had a new designer line based in bright colors for summer to approve.

Seems strange that right in the middle of isolated desert is the future!  Futuristic look matching.

The Bathes

By noon on Friday, Miami, Robert, Virg and Jude were thoroughly soaked.  They decided to go to the Space Center.

The first motel

they saw was on the main drag, near the town grocery store; a hop and a skip.  They were unanimous in taking a break from the road and the RV.  The motel was western themed with a bath house.  Robert, the swimmer was the first to try out the waters.  "I didn't even know how tangled up inside, I was."  Miami agreed that starting a new office in a new city was quite the jump.  She told him about the top stressors, that one being high up on the list.  He felt great now, he told them.  Virg and Toni had gone to an art gallery he had read about was new.  He had bought an original work of art!

Rolling Rock Run

They picked up some of the lager on the way out of the city.  The temperatures were gorgeous and they wanted some lake, refreshments.  TrC has many restaurants so the group were excited to go out for most meals.  They would barbecue steaks by the lake tonight, with salad and corn.  Jude was the chef again.

Franklin State Park, hiking

The group were hikers.  They wound around the spectacular desert trails for three miles then rested.  Late lunch near UTEP!  Then onto Truth or Consequences, NM for hot springs and three days vacation.  RiverBend was one spa they all
liked and some others also.  Robert wanted to experiment as some locals recommended.

For now the lunch at Chicago's Street Pizza was enjoyable.  The wings were fantastic there.  "How about Elephant Butte Lake State Park, want to start there for our overnights" Jude asked?

"Well we've so far been to San Antonio, Carlsbad and now El Paso, and I can't believe its already time to leave Texas!", Robert added.  He was glad about now having an office.  Texas had become home.

"I'll meet you back in Houston Robert after TrC.  I have the committee..... so I'll fly out when we reach Albuquerque.  I wanted the waters, wouldn't have missed any of this, though," Virg said.

Yesterday was a good day

for the two women.  They left taking the city bus to the Riverwalk about five, walked for two hours and back for dinner at eight o'clock.

This time Miami drove!

She was always content highway driving.  Her father was a truckdriver.  She loved him so she loved trucking...

Jude prepared homemade manicotti

in his oven, in his kitchen.  Robert helped him, making the broccoli salad with a light vinaigrette dressing.  The women had gone to the Riverwalk for exercise.

The papers came through, Miami would do the whole job herself, in the comfort of the RV with Robert right there.  He would take possession the 17th when they returned to Houston.  They thought to leave early tomorrow instead getting to   El Paso, on course.  Jude was looking at the map, he showed them a point on the way.  "It's Carlsbad National Park, caves," he excitedly told the rest of the group.  They decided to get there and explore a little, inside and down in the earth.  There was a KOA nearby so that would be their stop for the night.  Planet was evident as they left city...and civilization.  They wondered if other RVers felt this closeness to the universal order. 

Summer in February

78 degrees this Monday afternoon, hotter still tomorrow.  Robert thought he might even swim tomorrow at the parks and recreation facility, laps.  He was getting very muscles in shape, his abs too.  He had a good mood to him also.  Water, swimming agreed with him.

River Walk

The RV Park was just cozy, comfortable they were settling in.  This was their adventure for a month.  They got Coors all around and sat under the awning taking in the sun.  An afternoon like none other and each voiced how unbelievable it all came together, each contributing, none overloaded.  Before January 29th they barely knew each other or not at all.  They laughed at the coincidences lining up the whole week, like a fruit bowl starting with oranges, then apples and onto bananas and grapes; finally the whole thing put together.  If Robert had just gone to the game it would have been a week of fun yet.....The whole thing now much more.  He thought it was a gestalt strange but welcome. Whatever,  they all were together like a family, the idea surfaced in different ways from each.  They agreed to grab the golden ring and hang on; see where it lead them.

Robert was all packed

and ready to go so he went to the lobby and checked out and said his thank you's to the staff.  They had been extremely courteous.  Virg and Miami had stocked the RV, shopping all morning.  They planned to make a chef salad for lunch as Jude drove.  Suddenly they drove up and the newish RV gleamed, all washed.  He waved good-bye and got in to the, "Rose Boat".  The trip was about three hours to San Antonio.

He had a construction business in Houston.  He took more vacations, always working on them, also.  Miami met him at Fort Lauderdale.  He was dashing at a beach front ball she attended.  It was so elegant that her dress alone was her commission for the last project, she was working on at the same time.

The group were on their laptops, with big staff, some.  Miami the realtor had the largest staff.  Each of the entrepreneurs could do wonders on a computer; teleconferencing, texting or phoning. 

Miami already had three possibilities for a "wonderful" office.  Robert was already certain about one at Sharpstown.  He would be on the 21st floor with over 3000 square feet, all windows.  The fraternal twin buildings looked the image he wanted to portray, serious business, yet a flare of modern architecture or art. 

He called John and he was hip to the photographs; actually open to whatever Robert wanted.  "Let's go for it!"  Miami got a stunning price and they settled into the expansion, on paper.  The location was close to NASA also as well as an area for necessary development.  It fit the business plan for his company.

They would only go as far as San Antonio for the first day.  She made a reservation at an RV park there.

Robert was disappointed

yet Virg was for the Patriots so he could understand.  They turned in early since a regular morning swim was planned with a sauna and tennis, then checkout and the pickup at noon.  This was Robert's first cross country trip in an RV.

Halftime

Jude and Miami watching the game on television discussed what they each liked so far.  Jude liked the dances and show put together by artist, singer Lady Ga Ga and Miami liked the President Trump's interview.  She is an entrepreneur and thinks that business and politics should work together.

Their seats were great and they were both happy to be at the game.  They each had a Coors and started making friends around where they were seated; mostly Atlanta fans.  Robert began to talk to someone from his undergraduate Alma Mater and Virg found that she was seated next to her mother's best friend in high school, freshman year to senior prom.

We Introduce Virg,

short for Virginia, Robert's date for the Superbowl, L1.  She also invited him to her Mardi Gra celebration in Galveston the end of February.  She was part of the planning committee.

The week after the Superbowl, Miami and Jude were driving Robert back to Durango by way on an RV fully equipped.  They planned to go to some National, state and local parks in Texas, New Mexico, Utah and then onto Durango, the Four Corners and Mesa Verde.

Miami invited the brothers to a beach house she was staying in Friday to Saturday.  Neither had ever been there.  The were taking taxies and light-railing, with the crowds, so Miami said she would pick them up.  Her main interest was in Galveston and watching the game on television, with her boyfriend Jude.

Darren having an affair

Noone knew so he kept a watchful eye.  He was married for ten years and met Terry in the last year at work.  He wasn't sure about the whole, thing, felt they were friends mainly.  He worked as a sportscaster at a local newsroom in Pensacola, Florida and part-time wrote books on political figures in history.  He was now working on Napoleon, the whole book devoted to him.  The most salient point that he focused his study was his way of organizing, it had a special quality.

After Tennis

Robert called John in Durango to check on the business.  One of his regulars wished him "Good Houston".  He knew and wanted Robert to "make the Falcons win".  Most of their clients agreed, it was the turn for Atlanta!  He took a mid morning swim and looked at his indexes.  His brother was nowhere to be seen.  His brother was like that.  Here and gone within minutes.

Houston or Texas anyway was where Robert was looking to have a second office.  Many of his clients were Texans after all.  He thought more presence in the state was a good business move.  He also liked the new mayor of Houston, he was pro business and so Robert made a time commitment to part of his vacation, also to rent space.  He called a realtor, a friend of Miami's.

Museum District

Robert and his brother Darren had a tourist book and planned to see a number of the plethora of museums.  The History museum, the Contemporary art tin building and the Holocaust Remembrance amongst many others, all with a unique style or theme.  Houston was full of art!

They have a morning date for tennis,

since they planned on sports all week including swimming early morning and again at night.  Whenever the brothers were together, they were active and competing.

planned to go to Houston for the Game.
He had two tickets from a client, and planned to take his brother who was meeting him at the hotel.  Robert was excited for the festivities and waited for his brother, who called from the airport saying he was on his way.  They were going to be in Houston the entire week.  His brother, Darren was paying for the hotel with an indoor pool, since both liked the ability of each other to race.  They had almost gone to the Olympics, twenty years earlier, and both brothers kept in shape.  They checked in at 4 pm at the Hilton America's, close to downtown, each having a room and went for dinner to set an itinerary.
